almost all Armenians have been forced to flee Nagorno-Karabakh after a 10-month blockade and military aggression by Azerbaijan

📰 Andranik Harutyunyan had joined the Ashkharazor territorial defense forces [not Defense Army] to protect his village located on the NK-AZ border. He says Russian peacekeepers approached them on September 13 (six days before the Azeri attack) and advised them to evacuate women and children. Male residents remained to defend their village. Peacekeepers and the village mayor later returned, presumably after the attack, to instruct them to lay down their arms because "everything has been surrendered". 📰 International humanitarian aid arrived in Armenia to assist the refugees. Armenia and peacekeepers sent several tons of flour to Nagorno-Karabakh to feed the remaining population. Armenia will distribute a one-time $250, and a monthly $130 payment (for 6 months) to the refugees who need housing. The state has distributed temporary housing to over 40,000 refugees so far.

📰 Elderly woman was kidnapped from her village Khmkavan (Vaghuhas) by Azerbaijani soldiers and beaten with a rifle, including to her head, for almost a week before the Red Cross drove her to Armenian-controlled areas. 📰 Funeral was held for two brothers (8 and 10) killed by the Azerbaijani army in the village of Sarnaghbyur. The boys' teacher said they were killed by a drone or an artillery attack. Cyprus condemns Azerbaijan for ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, expresses readiness to take in forcibly displaced persons
CYPRUS: Undoubtedly, these unilateral actions by Azerbaijan are acts of ethnic cleansing, and therefore they must receive a relevant and resolute reaction by the international community. Azerbaijan must also respect its obligations towards Armenia’s territorial integrity under the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration. //

REPORTER: Why did the Nagorno-Karabakh population flee?
KAREN: They rejected the Russian-Azeri plan [of forced subjugation of ethnic Armenians and their "reintegration".] Russia had a plan. Russia will attempt to preserve some of the population.
QUESTION: Why did the former regime replace President Arayik Harutyunyan?
KAREN: Pashinyan was pressuring Arayik to agree to the Western-led negotiations. The [pro-Russian] regime realized that Arayik was going to agree. They realized that the outcome could be the introduction of international observers in Nagorno-Karabakh. Russia did not want this. The ex-regime organized Arayik's removal and appointed its mankurts to leadership roles.
I won't be surprised if Russia gave Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan in exchange for the massive quantities of confiscated armament. Russia was begging North Korea for weapons.
Nagorno-Karabakh had 80-110 tanks, with at least 80 being fully functional. To give you some perspective, Russia's UralVagonZavod produces only 4 such tanks per month, and repairs only 8.
Nagorno-Karabakh's >80 tanks, 120 BMP, the BTRs, and other vehicles including Ural trucks, they are taking them all. Russia will try to use them against Ukraine. Russia has handed over only a couple of tanks to Azerbaijan after the confiscation. They could keep the rest.
We give you the land [Nagorno-Karabakh], you give us the weapons. A scumbag deal between Russia and Azerbaijan.
My associates are involved in the efforts to host the refugees in Armenia. They told me there is not a single refugee who hasn't said something negative about the Russian state. We need to give refugees some time to rest before we start gathering all the facts.
REPORTER: How does the world interpret these events?
KAREN: The world saw a coup and illegitimate presidential elections in Nagorno-Karabakh that made the government appear even more illegitimate, with the population subsequently "deciding" to leave the region. That's how they view it. Russia and its ARF puppets in Nagorno-Karabakh have made it easier for Azerbaijan to whitewash the depopulation.
We had a president Arayik Harutyunyan in Nagorno-Karabakh. He wasn't recognized, but at least everyone understood that he was democratically elected. Arayik was in touch with the U.S. through a third party. The garbage that hijacked the power has deprived Nagorno-Karabakh of its remaining legitimacy. The whole world responded by condemning the process in Nagorno-Karabakh. In their view, Nagorno-Karabakh became another Luhansk managed by Russia.
Nagorno-Karabakh blindly trusted Russia. You raised and kissed Putin's portrait while the West was fighting against him, and now you have the audacity to throw an attitude against the West even after they agreed to send millions of dollars in humanitarian aid despite everything you have done? Azerbaijan is responsible for this situation, but so are the 22 MPs and the former regime that organized the coup in Nagorno-Karabakh. //
Armenia's pro-Russian opposition leader Vazgen Manukyan urges the military to carry out a coup against PM Pashinyan and remove him "at all costs"
VAZGEN MANUKYAN: I urge the army and its leadership to come to their senses otherwise even more blood will need to be shed tomorrow. He [Pashinyan] must be removed at all costs. //
Russian ultranationalist group targets a local Armenian community center in Tyumen with racist slurs
MEDIA: A few days ago, a group of Russian ultra-nationalists organized a march in the city of Tyumen with anti-Armenian slogans in front of the building of the Union of Armenians. They chanted *"Russia is for Russians, not for khach."* Khach is used as a racial slur to describe minorities from Caucasus. //
The outlet notes that the march took place at a time when the Russian government claims it is fighting nazis in Ukraine.
The outlet also notes that the administration of this particular Union of Armenians center has friendly relations with Armenian PM Pashinyan, something that's rare in Russia.

anti-corruption: Armenian authorities want to use asset forfeiture law to confiscate 19 downtown real estate properties belonging to a former Yerevan municipality official and his associates
Prosecutors have asked the Anti-Corruption Court to confiscate several properties from Andranik Qasaryan & associates. He is the former head of the Urban Planning Department.
19 real estate properties in Yerevan's central Kentron district, 4 vehicles, and large amounts of cash and deposits that authorities do not believe was possible to earn legally. The suspects have not explained how they were able to obtain it all, said the prosecutors.
