Pashinyan: 15 years ago today my car was blown up or torched.

Context: After the 2004 Olympics, then-journalist Pashinyan wrote an article depicting cartoon images (anyone has it?) of BHK Gagik Tsarukyan, Robert Kocharyan and Ishkhan Zakaryan. After that, according to Pashinyan, Tsarukyan's people contacted him and tried to arrange a meeting with him. He refused, and was allegedly told "you won't get away easily with this". Then the car thing happened.

Recently the Armenian Genocide recognition bill got a new boost in Senate. A bipartisan push by Ted Cruz and Robert Memendez (which begun in April) urged the Senate to vote in favor.

A veto by a Senator was placed yesterday. Another veto happened earlier last week. While Senators can veto it, other Senators can also re-introduce the resolution.

ANCA has asked Senators who oppose the resolution to simply vote against it, instead of using their veto power to block the discussion of the resolution.

The latest bipartisan push cited the near-unanimous passage in House as a basis for a consideration by the Senate.
