HHK mayor of Haytagh resigns from office citing health issues. His critics say the real reason is the recent revelations of embezzlement of agricultural grants that the government distributed to several communities in the region. Haytagh was also on the list of places where the aid wasn’t being used properly. Few weeks earlier, PM Pashinyan placed an ultimatum for local leaders across RA - either start making reforms to reduce corruption or your community won’t receive aid. https://armlur.am/833425/

Years ago, when Pashinyan was an opposition member, he met with business owners and later revealed that they told him about a pressure from HHK government to pay a monthly large sum to “avoid issues”. This is one of the reasons why Pashinyan, as a PM, gathered businessmen for a meeting few weeks ago, and asked them to invest in Armenia without the fear of being forced to give part of the income to them. The mayor of Gyumri is now accused of making such deals with HHK to avoid problems. Politicians would pay large sums to the law enforcement too, and in return receive a protection and dirty info on their political opponents, according to Joghovurd newspaper. Gyumri mayor denies the report. https://armlur.am/833704/
