It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Dikran A. Dikranian in the early morning of Sunday, October 11, 2015. Born in Cairo, Egypt, August 14, 1932, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harutyun and Araxie Dikranian. His death is mourned by his wife Mrs. Madeleine (Zakarian) Dikranian, his sons Harry H. Dikranian (Norma Alepian), Raffy Dikranian, his grandchildren Marc and Alissa. He also leaves behind in grief his brother Dr. and Mrs. Hagop (Lucy) Dikranian, his nephews Dr. Ara Dikranian, Dr. and Mrs. Armen (Talin) Dikranian (their children Nayra, Ahlik, Sareen), and his niece Ms. Ani Dikranian all in California.

Dr. Dikran Dikranian completed his residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital and Jewish General hospital. He retired as a practicing pediatrician from his long-time clinic at Polyclinique Cabrini in St Leonard, Montreal in 2000.

In retirement, he was surrounded by his family and loved ones. Many thanks to his treating physician Dr. Cristiano Ferrario of the oncology department of the Jewish General Hospital and the caring staff of the palliative care department at Hôpital Notre-Dame- de-la-Merci.

Visitation will be at the Komitas Funeral Home at 5180, rue de Salaberry, Montréal on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; and the Funeral Service at Sourp Hagop Armenian Church, 3401 Rue Olivar Asselin, Montréal on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made either to Ecole Alex Manoogian-Armen Québec de L' U.G.A.B., 755, rue Manoogian, Saint-Laurent QC H4N 1Z5 or Ecole Armenienne Sourp Hagop 3400 Rue Nadon, Montréal, QC H4J 1P5.
