Rudolf Khachatrian

Rudolf Khachatrian was a famous painter.

He was born in Yerevan in 1937 and lived in Moscow since 1971.

Khachatrian created in the spheres of painting and drawing. He has created portraits, still lives, landscape paintings.

In 1959 on the exhibition of the Youth and Students' seventh world festival in Vienna he was awarded a bronze medal, and a gold medal at the first Biennale of the Transcaucasian republics.

Khachatrian had individual exhibitions in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Odessa, and Yerevan.

He died at the age of 70 during the heart surgery in Germany.

On August 17 2007, by then the RA President, Robert Kocharian sent a letter of condolence to the Khachatrians.

The letter of condolence run as follows:

"I was very much grieved to learn about the death of great painter Rudolf Khachtrian. His works have enraptured and encouraged Armenian and foreign art lovers with their originality for tens of years.

I present my condolences to the family of Rudolf Khachatrian, his relatives, and his art admirers."
