Clement Ashekian

Clement Ashekian worked for IBM for 32 years as a Computer Systems Engineer. Upon his retirement, in 1991 he assumed the position as administrative director of the Children of Armenia Sponsorship Program (CASP), as a volunteer, along with his wife Julie, National Coordinator of CASP.

Clement has served on the Diocesan Council of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern Diocese).as well as Diocesan delegate representing his parish, St. George Armenian Church of Hartford, CT. He also served for many years on its Parish Council holding many positions.

Clement was the recipient of the St. Nersess Shornali Medal along with his wife Julie. Together they were invited by His Holiness Karekin ll to travel to Rome as part of an entourage to receive the relics of St. Gregory The Illuminator from Pope John Paul ll at the Vatican.
