Van Bayburd

Van Bayburd is Georgian Armenian politician.

He has been MP of the Parliament of Georgia, and in June 2008 was appointed Adviser of the President of Georgia by the decree of Mikhail Saakashvili.

Bayburd expressed an opinion that he would, in all probability, see to the issues concerning the national minorities of Georgia and the problems concerning the regional relations of the South Caucasus on his new post.

As for 2008, three Armenian deputies were represented at the parliament of the new convocation of Georgia. Henzel Mkoyan from Ninotsminda had been elected for the third time by majoritarian system, and Haroutiun Hovhannisian had been elected from Akhalkalak. And Armen Bayandurian, the Artistic Head of the Armenian Theatre of Tbilisi, had been elected deputy by proportional system.
