Areg Hovhannisyan

Areg Hovhannisyan is a diplomat. He has been the ambassador in Lebanon for 4 years till the beginning of 2006.

On January 9 2006 a reception was organized at the Armenian Embassy in Lebanon on the occasion of the completion of the diplomatic mission of Areg Hovhannisyan as the (not an) Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon. Lebanese Government members, MPs, heads of foreign diplomatic missions, Armenian community religious leaders, NGO representatives and businessmen were present at the event.

During his diplomatic mission Hovhannisyan supported Lebanese authorities and people in strengthening democracy and state sovereignty. On the other hand Armenian community members and organizations very much supported the establishment of Armenia-Lebanese relations.

On behalf of Aram I, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Kingdom, head of the Armenian Diocese in Lebanon Gegham Khacheryan awarded Hovhannisyan with Cilician Knight Orders.

Hovhannisyan had been awarded Grand Officer Order by the Lebanese President and St. Vardan order on behalf of the Armenian Diocese of Lebanon.
