Zhanna Alexanyan is an award-winning investigative journalist with experience in newspapers and television. Many of her stories have focused on conditions in Armenia's military, prisons, and mental hospitals.

She was presented with an award in 1999 by the Foundation for Mental Health in recognition of her work in this field.

A graduate of the State Medical Hospital, Zhanna worked for the Oragir newspaper before joining ArmeniaWeek in October. She moved to ArmeniaNow in July.
