Zanku Armenian has held numerous volunteer positions in the Armenian American community in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA and Los Angeles, CA during the course of the last 25 years. He is currently a commissioner on the Glendale Water and Power Commission, in Glendale, CA, appointed by the Glendale City Council. In addition, he is a Sunday columnist for the Los Angeles Times, in their Glendale News-Press and Burbank Leader newspapers.

Professionally, he holds a senior level corporate communications position with a major corporation in the Los Angeles area. Previously, he has held various senior level management positions at various large global public relations firms around the country including Burson-Marsteller, Powell Tate (now part of Weber Shandwick) and Brodeur. He also has been very active in national, state and local politics including work in the U.S. Congress, Presidential campaigns as well as directing communications strategy for various state and local political campaigns on both the east and west coasts. He is a founder and National Co-Chair of the Armenian American Democratic Leadership Council. He is a frequent guest commentator and analyst on local and national radio, TV and in newspapers regarding issues of concern to the Armenian American community on international, national and local levels as well as issues in the public relations, marketing, corporate communications and political arenas.
