Սմիրնիոպսիս հայկական (“Smirniopsis haykakan”)

Status

The number is rapidly decreasing due to the intensive collections for raw materials.

Habitat in Armenia

Met only in the floristic region of Dareleghis.

Habitat and ecology

Grows on dry rocky hills, on the height of 2000 – 2200 metes above sea level.

Biology and potential value

Very big, yellowish plant (up to 2.5 meters high).

Measures of protection

Full protection of the species should be made. Should be included in the Botanical Park of Yerevan as a decorative plant. Included in the Red Book of the former Soviet Union.
