Sen Arevshatyan is a renowned scientist, academician.

In August 2007 Arevshatyan resigned from the post of director of Matenadaran, a museum of ancient manuscripts, after 25 years in office.

Levon Mkrtchyan, by 2007 minister of education and science of RA, recalled that Arevshatyan enriched the museum with 1000 manuscripts.

The ministry of education and science awarded Arevshatyan with a golden memorial medal.

Arevshatyan retired due to pension age but was held as the chairman of the museum governing board.

After resignation the ministry of education and science formed a board to elect a new director in a closed voting.
