Newly Published Book Highlights Genocide
YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A book entitled "Memory or Forgetting" was published in Zurich–Switzerland devoted to several genocides that occurred in the 20th century. The book which contains sections presenting the Jewish Holocaust–the massacres of Indian tribes in the Amazons and other events–has a special section presenting the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Turkish Ottoman Empire.
The Armenian Genocide–which is considered the first genocide of the 20th century–is presented in the book starting from the deportation of Armenians from Samson to Aleppo–as described in horrific detail in the book by Payladzu Kaptanian ( the book was originally published in Leipzig–Germany in 1993). The section also includes a brief introduction to Armenian history and an analysis on the Turkish-Armenian conflict.
