The Armenian military both supports the forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and the long-term objective of Armenian military self-reliance. Armenia has worked toward making the Armenian Army a small, well-balanced, combat-ready defense force. Chief architects of the force were General Norat Ter-Grigoriants, a former Soviet deputy chief of staff who became overall commander of the new Armenian Army; Vazgen Sarkisian, named the first minister of defense; and Vazgen Manukian, who replaced Sarkisian in 1992. Xmag.png Searching tip - If your search does not turn up results for an Armenian word, try spelling (transliterating) it differently. For example, for Jermoog, try Jermuk, or for Ampert, try Amberd. I generally use standardized Eastern Armenian transliterations. For spellings of peoples names, especially western Armenian there is no magic formula. You can have Manugian, Manougian, Ara Manoogian, Manukyan, Manoukyan, Manukian, etc.
Gaim.png Help us improve! - If you visit a page where the article needs work being rewritten and organized, please feel free to jump in and edit the page. This site has a wealth of information that often comes from different sources that need to be combined or rewritten into a unified, relevant article.
Important.png About the articles - Articles about things Armenian should tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the subject, such as the duduk or Kirk Kerkorian. Articles about things not Armenian are here only to give the Armenian angle, or connection. The Bob Dole page will therefore only contain letters, references, information on his activities related to Armenian(ns).
