Armenian Language Lessons Introduction
For many years I have wanted to create some online Armenian language lessons for free over the internet. I have finally succeeded and think that this course is perfect for internet. It is of course best if you can have an Eastern Armenian speaker around to test out your pronunciation and look over your translation work. The lessons jump into Armenian pretty quickly, and you should progress quickly as well. They are divided by topic of learning, and are not in tiny little chapters like many language instruction books.
I would certainly appreciate any feedback you have on these lessons. All of the lessons are online now, although they will undergo serious editing. I hope to add an extra section of practice reading text in the end. There are two online dictionaries which will help in your studies, a simple one that has both Arm-Eng and Eng-Arm, and a more deeper one which is only Eng-Arm.
The book that these lessons were derived from was printed in the Soviet Union in 1970 by Luys Publishers. The authors were Markaryan, Asatryan, and Jagatspanyan. It was originally intended to teach Russian speakers Armenian and originally cost 87 kopeks.
