Armenian illuminated manuscripts reached a very highly developed form in a number of different regions across historic Armenia and Armenian communities outside Armenia.  [[Cilicia]], [[Vaspurakan]] (Van), [[Jugha]], and many other communities produced masterpieces which are on display in museums and collections around the worlds.  The [[Matenadaran]] in [[Yerevan]] today has the worlds largest collection of Armenian illuminated manuscripts, and one of the largest collections of illuminated manuscripts in the world.
