Aram Hakobyan has been voted Armenia's Player of the Year for 2005.

Top billing

The FC Banants and national-team forward topped a poll of presidents, coaches, referees and football journalists. Hakobyan beat FC MIKA striker Armen Shakhgeldyan into second place, with Premier League top scorer Nshan Erzrumyan coming in third.

UEFA Cup goals Hakobyan played more matches than any other Banants player in the 2005 season and was the club's 12-goal leading marksman. He scored twice against FC Dinamo Tbilisi as Banants got past the UEFA Cup first qualifying round for the first time, and grabbed another double against FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the next round.
