All the accused are innocent until proven guilty by the court of law. Currency in Armenian Drams unless specified otherwise.

Prosecutors say the aerial tramway (chopanughi) in Tsakhkadzor has avoided paying 476mln in taxes for several years.

On 2004, the government made a decision to give parts of the chopanughi to Sports Committee. The latter donated it to Armenian National Olympic Committee, led by BHK chief Gagik Tsarukyan, with a condition that the latter would renovate it. The Olympic Committee gave the ownership of the chopanughi to its subsidiary companies.

For 2005-2017 combined, the company reported earning 496mln income. After the 2018 revolution, on 2018 alone the company showed 537mln income. The prosecutors were curious how the income was 496mln for 12 years combined, but 537mln on 2018 alone. (magic wand effect)

The taxes paid between 2005-2017 were 148mln combined. On 2018 they paid 240mln.

The prosecutors says the electricity usage was approximately the same for 12 years, +/- 25%. This means the chopanughi's business didn't substantially increase on 2018. The company hid 2bln income, but not all of it was taxable. Prosecutors have found 476mln in unpaid taxes so far.

The case was first brought into attention by Kotayk governor Romanos P. later last year. Multiple felony charges are filed.

Tsarukyan's Olympic Committee says they will cooperate with the law enforcement. They give other explanations to the math problem. They said they found and fired a dishonest director of the subsidiary company in past.

Citizen's Decision political party has contacted Parliament speaker Mirzoyan with a plea to suspend BHK leader Gagik Tsarukyan's MP status, arguing that the law prohibits MPs from conducting business and having conflicts of interest as policymakers. The complaint letter quotes Tsarukyan's media interview pieces, which the letter says is a proof that Tsarukyan doesn't have the legal right to be an MP because he is still involved in businesses.

QP and LHK haven't commented. Another BHK MP says he doesn't see a problem and that the law enforcement can examine the claim. Speaker Mirzoyan will comment later.

Incident during the Citizen's Day celebration.

The police in Yeghegnadzor received a report from the deputy governor QP Razmik Tonoyan, saying that during the festivities, a BHK MP Sergey Bagratyan and one other person allegedly insulted then tried to physically assault him during an argument. The police is investigating. BHK MP is denying any wrongdoing.

QP is saying the incident begun when the drunken BHK MP confronted the deputy governor saying "Who are you to come to our (BHK) province and establish rule of law here?"

They say several men approached the deputy-gov and wanted to ask information about some legal procedure. During the interaction, the deputy-gov noticed that the men smoked and threw the cigarette butts on the ground, and asked them to pick up and throw in the trash can instead. The men didn't like that. Sometime during this verbal argument, the BHK MP injects himself into the argument. The deputy-gov asked the MP who he was and why he was trying to enter the argument (perhaps by not recognizing him). The BHK MP got upset and said he is a two-term elected MP.

The BHK MP refused to testify or give a blood sample for the police to check his blood alcohol levels; the deputy-gov agreed. One of the accused is saying he raised a glass of alcohol at the table but didn't actually drink.

The deputy-gov says he will release a video footage if necessary to prove the story, and urged the BHK MP to apologize for the incident.

QP is trying to make the university education free for students who work simultaneously. They say there are multiple benefits to this system.

Many students currently work in the shadow economy, hiding their income. The change will encourage them to come clean and start paying taxes. The taxes paid by the students will help the government towards paying their tuition.

Many businesses require work experience. Encouraging students to enter the job market early on could help them gain enough experience to make the future employment easier.

Only those who pass the average grade threshold will qualify for the tuition subsidy, meaning the student will still have to pay attention to the quality of their education. QP is also discussing the possibility of making the subsidy available only to 3rd and 4th year students in order to address concerns about education quality.

The bill also defines a work as something that can be part time as well. For example, a student can work part-time from home to help translate papers for a translation company, or write articles for a paper. This allows the students to have enough time not to neglect the studies. Even if the student earns minimum wage, the taxes paid by him will amount to ~300k annually, which the government will use towards subsidizing the tuition. (The average tuition in Armenia is 410k).

Edit : the following story turned out to be fake news by someone who registered a fake website.

~Saudi Arabian princess Rima Al-Saud, who is the Saudi ambassador to US, says the Saudi Arabia will help to lobby to recognize the Armenian Genocide committed by the Turkish authorities on 1915. She said Saudis also suffered repressions under the Ottoman Turkish empire.

The ambassador say they'll help to finance the genocide recognition in the Congress. She met Democrat and Republican members of ANCA. The plan is to come up with a bipartisan bill to increase its chances of adoption.

The move comes after an increasingly hostile relations between Saudis and Turkey. At first the anti-Saudi journalist/agent Khasoggi was murdered by Saudi special forces in the Saudi embassy, then the Turks complained that Saudis were aiding Kurdish fighters in Syria. ·~

Edited to clarify fake news.
